Rumours in the wind of another holiday, cor blimey where do these GeeGee's get the money?

The weather these last few days has been glorious, COLD, but GLORIOUS. The thing is with sunshine and blue skies is that it makes you want to go on holiday, that slight wiff in the air of coconuts, beer and BBQ's, the waves crashing on the shore as you run sand through your toes looking out to see through your over sized sunglasses. Oh how i would love a week away somewhere tropical!

So you can imagine how i felt when i found out that the GeeGee's had been planning their next holiday and after a cold break in Moscow they have decided this time they want nothing less than

SAND, SEA, and CARROT COCTAILS . . .  Apparently!!

They sat on the trampoline, backs against the netting warming their withers in the sunshine yesterday, on closer inspection i could see they were looking through a holiday brochure and putting circles around pages with a pen. Hmmmm what are they planning now, I wondered. As i took out their carrot shakes they wanted to the garden for them i asked what it was they were planning next "Somewhere i can go scuba diving" Frog replied instantly looking at a page advertising swimming with marine life and riding on dolphins (poor dolphins was my immediate thought, i don't know whether a 14hh pony weighing over 400kg might exceed the weight and height restrictions, but i kept it to myself to avoid dampening any excitement!) "SURFING" Hattie screamed out as he bounced up on the trampoline giving Frog and I an impression of him riding the waves, "Look at me - Pro wave rider". After sitting back down and taking  a good gulp of his carrot juice, Hattie turned to frog shutting the brochure firmly with his hooves he said "GOT IT-YEH, we know where we want to go", Frog nodded and they both sat back and gulped the rest of their juice. Apparently though they aren't telling me yet, they need to see if they can book the flights?!! I did offer to help but i'm guessing i'm not needed, Booohooo. All i want to know is where they are going, I suppose at least i have some clue -

Somewhere with SAND, SEA and COCTAILS, BIG Waves and some Dolphins??
Hmmmm  that narrows it down a bit . . . NOT!!

I shall keep you informed, up until now all i know is I'M JEALOUS LOTS!
I wanna go to the beach!!

I can just see them now soaking up the sun and playing on Jet ski's,
Lets hope they do it without any mischief :)

Oh how i have missed those GOOGLEY EYES!!

Hattie and Frog have safely arrived home after a safe and easy flight, a steady landing, and they even managed to catch their train from the airport at the correct time too . . .
. . . Awww aren't they so clever!!

They came POSITIVELY BOUNCING into the garden at around 4am this morning, MY WORD I bet the neighbours didn't know what was going on, they really do need to learn to be a little less CLUMSEY on their hooves, and a little Shhhhhh wouldn't do any harm either,THANKFULLY they didn't wake the Mini Funky's.

Never mind the noise, I'm just glad they are home safe.
After a coffee for me, and an apple tea for the GeeGee's,
I sat ready and eager to hear ALL ABOUT THEIR ADVENTURE!!

Oh and what an ADVENTURE it sounds!!

They sat waving their little fetlocks in the air, Hattie's feathers kept hitting Frog in the eye balls causing him to need to wipe his eyes and whilst doing so, elbowing Hattie in the ear! If you could of seen them, HILARIOUS, they were so over exited as they tried to tell me about it their train of thought was all over the place, i got snippets and half stories followed by a complete new story, and then ending up back where we started on the original story that was being told . . . CONFUSING i know! And without gaps between words can be a little difficult to follow cohesively.

They seem to have been to many places, bus tours to posh big buildings, cathedrals, theatre's, art galleries, a park with a huge water fountain (Apparently great for a drink mid tour) and also they had their photo's taken next to a HUGE BELL!! Hattie said both he and Frog had tried to lift it but it was just too heavy, one of the guards came over and asked what they were doing, when they replied 'We are going to ring the bell, they were  told "It doesn't ring". I explained to them that some of these things are so old they don't work anymore but people like to be able to see them and touch them and take photos of them. Frog's reply was "What is the point in a bell that doesn't ring?" Raising my eyebrows i explained that once upon a time it would of rang. Sometimes its best to just change the subject, so i asked if they had taken any photographs while they were away. Another coffee and a second serving of Apple tea for the GeeGee's and we had giggled our way through many a captured memory. Their photography skills are pretty good, and i'm very impressed the camera came back in one piece and only needing a good clean.

They did mention the Segways, they told me they had great fun riding them round the city and it was nice to rest their legs, Apparently they are really good on them. I just ZIPPED MY MOUTH and well RAISED MY EYEBROWS, I can't exactly say anything can I ??

After looking through umpteen photos and listening to the details as they projected it so excitedly, we realised it was almost time for the Mini Funky's to get up for school and i would need to return to Mama Funky mode. Just before the GeeGee's went off to rest their googley eyes from their long trip they said i had to CLOSE MY EYES they had a SURPRISE??

A little worried at what i would open my eyes to i slowly closed them and took a deep breath hoping that i wouldn't open them to a huge cleaning or property damage bill.

1.2.3 OK YOU CAN OPEN YOUR EYES . . .

. . . Slowly and trying to be optimistic i opened my eyes -

OH MY WORD, WHAT A FUNKY SURPRISE I OPENED MY EYES TO :)

THEY BROUGHT ME HOME A PRESENT, A RUSSIAN DOLL!!
Awwwwwww, HOW CUTE???

I have been playing with it since getting it, i forgot how much fun they were as a child, so simple yet so fascinating, BIG to LITTLE, put them in a line, put them all back together . . .

. . . SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeech!!

Yeh i also forgot how much i CRINGE with the squeak of the wood, It goes right through me. YIKES! Like nails on a chalkboard, Screech through the bones!

I am so thankful for my gift from them both, how sweet to know they have been somewhere and bought me something to give me a little piece of their adventure too, Soooo sweet, i'm so lucky to have these FUNKY GeeGee's around me, and BOY they come with a whole HEAP of entertainment and humour !!

Here i am with my little gift from Hattie and Frog . . .  I LOVE IT!!

My Russian doll . . . Thankyou GeeGee's xxx

I'm over the moon they have had great fun, I bet they sleep well tonight!!

There will be no better feeling for those GeeGee's than being back in their own bed and able to use the toilet when they choose and not when they 'finally manage to get the toilet seat lid up'
 (Hattie's exact words!)

However they are already chatting among themselves about where they would like to visit next . . .

. . . They seriously make me GIGGLE OUT LOUD,
These Funky GeeGee's!!!

Cutlery Heroes and Russian dolls??

Well the GeeGee's are on their way back to UK grass as we speak, and from the sound of their excited tone down the phone? I am guessing they have had a great time!!

I haven't had any messages or calls about any major
 mischief or mayhem -
(Well other than the few things the Agent has told me, like Pillow fights and Segways and such like, BUT they don't know i know about that so Shhhhh!)

- They apparently got let off with the damage to the pillows though because last night they helped capture someone who tried to steal the cutlery tray from the restaurant at the hotel?!! I'm not sure of the details, i couldn't understand their excited speech as they tried to tell me . . .

. . . Apparently though they are now HEROES!!??

I'm looking forward to them coming home and telling me all about their FUNKY adventure,
I can't wait to hear their spin on these Segway things (Pun intended lol) lets cue every excuse under the sun, either that or fail to mention them at all?

I also want to hear about how they felt when they were there, how was their FUNKY journey?
Was it magical being somewhere you haven't been before and seeing it all for the very first time?
Not just as a 2D picture in a glossy brochure, but as the REAL THING to be really there and to be able to touch it, smell it, hear it, and see it with their own googley eyes!! I bet it was AMAZING FOR THEM!! I can't wait to hear their stories.

My Agent says that they have been into the City again today and visited a little Art gallery and The Armoury to have a look around. Frog was a little clumsey and almost caused mayhem when he fell into the ropes surrounding an old fireplace with brass vases, the vases wobbled and as quick as Frog was trying to steady them his big butt would knock another!! Hattie apparently tried to help but before they knew it they were surrounded by security guards asking what their intentions were! OH DEAR! Nothing was broken from what I have heard, but they were asked to stand right next to the tour guide and not leave his side and if it happened again they would be asked to leave. All would of been well if they had just listened, but apparently further round the tour they came across a big carriage and couldn't help themselves from pretending to be the Queens horses pulling their golden carriage.

 Yep, you guessed it . . .

. . . They were asked to leave!!

They waited patiently (Now there is a first) outside the building, My Agent said it looked like they were rather huffed and sat drawing pictures with their hooves on the pavement. When the tour had finished they rejoined the group and they headed off to the gift shop, Agent says it was small and full to the brim of Russian dolls and EASY TO BREAK plates and decorated eggs. OH DEAR!!
I d aren't even doodle it in my FUNKY cartoon brain!  Can you imagine the mess they could potentially make in a GIFT SHOP?!
It looked like they loved playing with the Russian dolls, Agent says they seemed a little baffled when putting them back together though and hooves were not the best instruments for the job!

Apparently though they were really well behaved and came out with a little carrier bag, so maybe they have bought themselves a lovely little souvenir to bring back to remind them of their adventure? Awwwww, how cute, i can't wait for them to come home and tell me all about it, As mischievous as they are, I MISS THE GOOGLEY EYED FUNKY'S!!

Here is a picture I was sent from My Agent of them both  'Gift Shopping'
I'm just so glad they kept control of them FUNKY, knobberly fetlocks!!

Segways and Ice cream!!

Well apparently the GeeGee's are having a great time in Moscow on their little mini break, I received a message last night from Hattie's phone saying that they LOVE their room, the beds are SUPER BOUNCY and great fun for trampolining

(OH DEAR!)

Apparently they owe money for cushions though? When I asked what happened my reply was as follows ~

"Honestly we don't know Miss Funky, the cushions were just flying off the beds

and hitting us in the face?!"

 Hmmmmm,

My guess? They have being having PILLOW FIGHTS as they bounce on these apparent SUPER BOUNCY BEDS and that is why they now owe money for cushion replacements, what do you reckon?!!

I can only imagine the amount of feathers all over the room though, CRIKEY, and add to that hoof prints and slobber and well i reckon that they may find their deposit goes on a cleaning bill! Apparently they have been ordering lots of COOKIES and ICE CREAM too, My word i d aren't even vision it in my Funky cartoon brain, all i can say is POOR CLEANER!!

Today apparently they have been on a FUNKY tour, My agent says that they went on a big bus that took them around the City to show them the highlights and they finished off at Red Square. Apparently both GeeGee's were slobbering as soon as they got off the bus and seen what they thought to be HUGE ICE CREAM CONES!!
Unfortunatly for them it was not edible! However they soon seemed fascinated by the colours and textures that the building was offering them and the camera came out for photos instead.
Later in the day after a look around St Basil's Cathedral the tour guide did indeed take the whole group for ICE CREAM, Mmmmm YUMMY. I bet that was nice for them, Seems they have a thing for ICE CREAM!

The Agent says that they were well behaved through their tour but could of been a little less disruptive when it came to having a go on the segway's at the end of the trip. Apparently they were suppose to listen to the safety instructions and they were suppose to follow the instructions and well i suppose LISTEN?? What do the Funky GeeGee's go and do instead? Well they decide to IGNORE instructions, SKIP safety talk and well RACE OFF on their own little adventure

 **Note from Agent -
- It looked like a game of WHO COULD BE THE BEST JOCKEY
on the FASTEST RACE HORSE?!!

Except apparently it ended in a HEAP a furlong from the finish line! YEP, I'm reckoning they wished they had listened to that SAFETY TALK and not skipped INSTRUCTIONS? My Agent says that as they came around the last turn they completely lost control and to put it how us Humans would put it . . .

. . . They came FLYING OUT THE SIDE DOOR!!

Apparently nothing was hurt from what she could see, well maybe a little PRIDE? They certainly wont be doing that again in a hurry will they? Or well lets hope not.

These Funky GeeGee's, You simply cannot take your eyes off them for five minutes without them causing MISCHIEF and MAYHEM! They are home in a couple of days, I CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR THEIR STORIES. Oh yeah but I MUST remember not to mention SEGWAYS or ICECREAM  . . .

 . . . . Can't be having them knowing that I have been
watching them can I? . . .  Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Here is a picture my Agent sent me of the pair of them as they stood mesmerized
looking at the GIANT ICE CREAMS ~

Oh yeah and it seems they are more appropriately dressed!!
Apparently the weather has turned cold but dry.

Well I'm off to sort the Mini Funky's for bed ready for School tomorrow, I have a busy week ahead planned with some Cartooning and also bringing a certain little tubby pony back into work after her couple of months holiday. She is such a sweety, bless her. I can't wait to start doing stuff with her again, today she had a short lunge and a little walk about. She has enjoyed her holiday but watching her little face today you can see that she LOVES to be doing stuff too. The Mini Funky's are SUPER EXCITED for Spring. I just can't wait to see some SUNSHINE again!

UPDATE-They have LANDED, And well I don't think they expected the weather!!

Well I have had word back from my Agent and she has informed me that the GeeGee's behaved on the Plane, they didn't pinch the Captains hat and they both sat quiet as a mouse for the WHOLE flight. I thought that strange,
I mean NO MISCHIEF?
Apparently it looked like they were glued to their seats in fear
and had no thoughts at all for mischief -
(Bless them, Hattie and Frog have never flown before, i wonder if they realised
how high the plane actually goes before they booked the flight?).

-They have landed safely and calmly but suffered some severe head shaking after getting off the plane (I forgot to tell them to suck a hard boiled sweet!). Agent says that they are not in the best clothes for their destination, and after realising it was at least 20 degrees colder than they must have been expecting, well lets just hope they packed a coat!!

So where are they?

MOSCOW APPARENTLY?!!!!
Well I didn't expect that one, Especially since all i seen them pack is shorts T-shirts
and i distinctly remember erm . . .
 . . . . SUN TAN LOTION??

Agent says it is around 1 degree Centigrade and it's fluttering with snow, Brrrrrr!!
Luckily she packed her coat and her warm snug boots, she also made sure she had her extra warm PJ's with her. Lets hope that the Funky GeeGee's thought about that, I'm worrying they are going to get cold. The Agent has booked herself a room in the same hotel but she couldn't get a room on the same floor. OH DEAR!

Let's hope they behave, i have visions of them raiding the kitchens for midnight snacks and getting up to mischief and mayhem when the rest of the hotel is fast asleep!! Please behave GeeGee's :)

Here is a photo the Agent sent me of the pair of them after they had landed, They don't look so happy about the weather, Fingers crossed they packed some layers!! I do hope they have a good time . . .

. . . AND STAY OUT OF TROUBLE!!

Hattie and Frog ~ GLOBE TROTTERS

HATTIE and FROG ~ GLOBE TROTTERS

UPDATE ~ Remember when i told you i had heard through the haynet that a couple of the Funky GeeGee's were planning a holiday, or two, or three . . . I lost count and then had to scramble and hide as they seen the haynet move and i was afraid i had blown my cover!!
Well anyways, It's TOMORROW!!
So just to be safe I have sent one of my secret agents from the SSCMH to keep an eye on them and make sure they stay out of trouble (I can only hope they do!) UNDERCOVER of course!! SHHHhhhhhhhhhhh DON'T TELL THEM!! I will share their adventures or mishaps with you all whenever i am updated. Lets hope that Hattie and Frog behave themselves and make the very best of their experiences as they travel what sounds like . . .

 . . . THE GLOBE!!

HATTIE AND FROG ~ GLOBE TROTTERS

DAY 1 ~ And their off!!

Well that's it, they have gone. Hattie and Frog where up at the crack of dawn and the excitement was unbearable!! You can imagine the noise of the two of them stomping round on a mini mission as they got all their things together and waited for their Taxi. Of course as always someone forgets to pick up their passport so when i saw the Taxi heading back towards the house i knew EXACTLY what they were missing! I quickly handed the passport to Frog and give his withers a scrub and told him to make sure they both HAVE FUN but STAY SAFE!!
My secret agent left shortly after (Just to ensure She stays undercover and so that the GeeGee's don't click on and realise i have sent someone to follow them) I know it may seem OTT but you know what these Funky GeeGee's are like, you simply cannot turn your back on them for 5 minutes before there is mischief mayhem and a whole heap of mess to sort out!!
My secret agent sent me this picture of them when they first got into Town, She said they got out of the taxi in town and had safely made their way to the train station, however it seems they must of read the times wrong and after what looked like a disagreement they settled outside of the train station and snacked on some grass and dandelion leaves. Apparently they are still there now so I'm hoping that their train is due soon or i just know that MISCHIEF will come with BOREDOM!! YIKES!!

I will keep you informed whenever i hear from

the Secret agent.

Here we go again, the IMAGINATION is on FIRE wooohoo, lets do this :)

HELLO . . . So the Summer has ended and WOW what fun we have managed to squeeze into it, Just the Kids and Ponies and spending time with all those people who are really important to me. Especially my BESTEST friend (You know who you are <3 ). We even had a seaside trip away for the weekend to Whitley Bay and the weather couldn't of been better!! We LOVE going to Whitley Bay EVERY YEAR . . . It is something we have done every year since Mini Funky was a tiny Baby, and we have continued to visit every Summer now with Baby Funky too. It is one of those places that just fills you with a sense of peace.

Whitley Bay ~ St Mary's lighthouse

But back to school now, TERM TIME!!  The kids have got back into their routine of getting up on a morning and putting clean uniforms on, instead of the tracksuit bottoms, jods, or jeans we spent the majority of our summer wearing.
We still manage some time after school to fit in a quick hack, or a short lesson. But the nights are quickly drawing in and well soon it will be weekends only for the Mini Funky's :(
They have been learning about safety and low light, and we ensure that we can be seen when we are out on a hack.

Baby Funky and Sparky

So what have I been keeping my busy fingers doing whilst the kids are at school? . . .

. . . Well it took me about 2 weeks to get the house back to what resembled a family home, instead of the Alladin's cave that it had become (Although it was not treasure you would find, more likely an odd sock or empty juice carton. Look hard enough you will probably find a stale biscuit and maybe a half packet of crisps!).  I have however managed to squeeze in some time for a nice hack out on my friends pony Toby, and do some lunging and longreining with Sparky to try and keep her in shape.
I'm failing miserably, and need to up her work some more and i've had to seriously restrict her intake of this lush Autumn grass we seem to have, Even Smurf has had to come in for a few hours to eat some hay and take a break for the seemingly PREMIUM GRASS GROWTH we have going on at the moment. We have very gassy GeeGee's on our yard at the moment!

Out for a hack looking over the countryside surrounding us.

I have also been keeping my creative brain active with some busy book work, I had the rough draft done, i just needed to read it and let the story flow to me (Well after a whole pack of jaffa cakes and an un-countable amount of coffee, but it came!) once written, it was that vital proofreading and basic edit stage, the stage where a short book becomes a feature length novel, and then of course you have the next installment and the installment after that rattling around up there too.  As i am reading my manuscript i have ideas of pictures wizzing round that i have to quickly sketch down the idea before another takes its place. It's very busy in Miss Funky's brain at the moment, but things are moving forward and productive and I have to say i cannot wait to get cracking building this book up and seeing it come to life.  It was so amazing the first time, the journey, the learning, the experience, the imaginative freedom to live in the Funky GeeGee world through my book creation. The frustrations, the tears and the tantrums which somehow all came together and i released my first book ~
The truth about PONIES. And i cannot WAIT to share the second installment with you all in the near future.  I shall share my journey, share my joys, and no doubt STILL tears and tantrums, however maybe milder? . . .I have to remind myself :

I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE, I CAN DO THIS AGAIN . .  .

. . . ENJOY,EMBRACE,CREATE, and IMAGINE.
Above all believe i can do it, and it will get done!!

And on that note i am off to bed to dream it's process,
Night all xx
LOVE ~ Miss Funky <3

All Summer long, Ponies,Ponies,Ponies

Summer has been so much fun so far!!

It really has been brilliant this last couple of month and even though the weather has been Up and Down well we have done what we can, and made the most of every moment possible.
Usually i find the Summer holidays stressful near the end as we are running out of ideas of things to do, the kids are becoming bored and i'm tired of kid refereeing and "I'm Bored". But this year it needs to SLOW DOWN because we are having waaaaaaaay too much fun for there only to be a few weeks left!! I think having Sparky pony this year has been the best thing ever and we have sooooo many more summers to enjoy!

So what have we been upto since my last post?

Well it's probably easier to show you . . .

As you can see it has been jolly good fun.  We have also been out to a local playzone, the park, visited grandparents, done some arts and crafts . . . AND we have booked our first holiday together as a family since Baby Funky was just 2 years old, it is well OVERDUE!! So we are off for a long weekend break to a seaside resort in our caravan as a little family, we are sooooo EXCITED!!

What about the GeeGee's? WELL ACTUALLY i do have news.  I have rounded them up from their freedom to roam and we have all gathered in the kitchen

(Of course all the best ideas are made in the kitchen haha).

I forgot how cramped it gets in here with all these nobberly knees and 'can't keep still' fetlocks. And the flatulance from the Summer grass (OMG). And then there is the trying to get some order from the chaos . . . MY WORD!! IMPOSSIBLE AT TIMES!!

BUT we have worked on the plan, in a rather in-cohesive and messy manner, but we have decided on the way in which we shall bring the next book together with the next loaded secrets and humour from the SSCMH. The arguments already over who will make it onto the book cover and who will star in the trailer are unbearable. I thought the Mini Funky's were bad for bickering ! But these GeeGee's will give any child a run for their money!

So yep we have the next book cogs all working, and its the exciting building from the base part that I and the GeeGee's will now embark on.  An adventure to unfold with giggles guaranteed.
The next page of secrets from the SSCMH Equine revolution plan will soon be available for the Humans to get their hooves on.  I shall keep you all updated with the exciting journey . . .

. . . Well thats if i can stop these GeeGee's from eating the manuscript!! I only ask them for 1 hr a day to participate in our brain storming activity, and plans for this project.  The whole time is spent distracting them from eating or sulking from their time spent away from the grass!! Gosh the bellies on them all they are hardly starved!! These GeeGee's they take some keeping in order, choas is always just a hoof print away!!

Here is an Illustration i have just finished, very typical of the GB weather!! . . .

Wow and what a weekend

So Sunday night and all is quiet upon the FUNKY household :)

Its been a very emotional weekend. COR BLIMEY HAS IT!! From Friday onwards has been a rollercoaster of every emotion rolled into one big round bale and then rolled down a big steep hill.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . . . .

. . . But here I am and it is Sunday night and I'm sat with a smile still upon my face and i'm wondering actually how to stop smiling so much because my cheeks are beginning to hurt :D
But smile i must as i am so proud to see them googley eyed ponies out there in the big wide world :) I hope many enjoy their story as it unfolds.

I have read it over and over and the HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEKEND has been to sit with the children and read it to them on their tablet. Mini Funky grasped the story really well, He said that it was about the ponies of the world teaching children how to be caring and loving. How there would be plenty carrots to share with EVERYONE.  He said if the boys and girls are naughty then the ponies are naughty. And Ponies are REALLY REALLY FUNNY (Yes I think we can all agree there can't we) Baby Funky is a little young to quite grasp it yet but She enjoyed the rhythm to the story and she giggled at the illustrations which as a Mum brings tears straight to your eyes, when your children sit next to you snuggled in tight and you are reading them YOUR story on a tablet  OMG I'm just rather overwhelmed with emotions and pride i think would be the words!!

So lots of giggles have been had. As well as some amazing messages of encouragement from some special people who have shared my adventure as i chased my dream. So everytime i have opened my inbox i have had to make sure that i have tissues next to me at the ready, i'm just blown away by everyone's response. THANKYOU SO MUCH TO YOU ALL.

So i'm going to give myself a couple of weeks off to enjoy the Easter holidays with the children and to spend some time with the Ponies hopefully with Mr Sunshine wearing his big bold hat like He has today, It has been a beautiful day and I even seen my first ladybird this year . . . .SPRING COMING SOON TO A GARDEN NEAR YOU :D

So after the Easter break I shall be getting back to the drawing board and back with the pen and paper and i will be trying to pull all these ideas wizzing round like a merry go round into some form ready for the second book i have planned in the series.

So a little creative break to let my brain recover some. Although it is not a complete creative break as I have just been informed tonight by Baby Funky that she wants me to enter the parent egg decorating competition!!  Soooo tomorow i shall be busy busy boiling eggs and making them into something GREAT. Hmmmmm I'm yet to decide what and Baby Funky cannot make up her mind.  So GREAT isn't too GREAT at the moment but I am ever hopeful for some Eggy brainwave to come of some 3D masterpiece :)  I will keep you informed on how it goes :)

Well I'm off now to make a cuppa, put my feet up and watch some TV I have a busy week ahead with end of term stuff before the Easter break and I would like to try and organize my hazard zone . . .

. . . I mean HOUSE ready for them to probably just turn upside down and inside out whilst they are off. But hey ho that's just how it goes!

Catch up soon <3 Miss Funky.

I am so excited to see the Funky GeeGee's out there in the big wide world spreading the FUNKY VIBE and hopefully plenty giggles :)

I have loved every minute of creating the illustrations to go with my story, to see something come to life in front of my eyes is such an amazing experience and such a joy. And then when the last illustration was completed and they were all added into the book it was like seeing your baby born and meeting for the first time. YES I DID CRY, LOT'S!!  Happy tears though, and thankful tears for the ability, and the gift of creativity we are all born with.

So i guess I shall leave this blog post there for now and wait and see what you all think of the book. So Cough, cough, HANG ON WAIT . . . . I need to go get my official hat on, and maybe find the hairbrush. HA You really should see me, I look like a pretty good interpretation of a scarecrow.  Amazing how your whole image can change when you forget about it.

WHY ?? I mean surely the hairbrush is not an epic challenge ?  NOPE no challenge just boring in comparison to what i am on with.  What, what, what are you on with ? I hear you say.
You mentioned the book word . . .  what does that mean ?

WELL, Exactly that . . . . I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY BOOK !!

Only a year later than i wanted to, or maybe two or three,
I'm really not sure. Bluuuur of all sorts and that
four letter pain in the hindquarter word 'LIFE'.

BUT now I can honestly say . . . .IT IS COMPLETE . . .  COMPLETE . . .  DONE, and I'm actually happy with the final result. WOW, aren't I doing well?
Changes, Miraculous things they are. Making them has the side effect of doing something.
Make them positive and you have DONE SOMETHING POSITIVE.

SO WHERE IS IT ??

It is in its final stages now, and this is erm . . . Headache mazes of html code and formatting stuff that frankly goes STRAIGHT OVER THE FORELOCK !!  It seems that the easy bit was actually the writing of the story and the pictures.  Computer stuff? YA LOST ME !!
So it's not quite there.  But the journey to get there I would like to share with you so I shall blog a little more often in these final few weeks to book launch.

Date for launch is still to be determined, BUT it is going to be in March 2015
 . . . YES INDEED THIS YEAR, I promise.

And so the hard work I thought i had done, seems to be just beginning.  I must treat it as an adventure, avoid becoming disheartened and SMILE . . . .Must remember to smile on through there.  And soon I hope to pat my self on the back and say WELL DONE you did it.  Now go take a long bath, find the hairbrush, and GO TO BED.  SMILE and be pleased with One's self :)

So keep your eyes peeled. NEXT WEEK will see Book trailer launch.  I really enjoyed working on the book trailer. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

AND THE BOOK ?? If you giggle half as much reading it, as I did writing it.  I'm gunna be over the moon.  In a serious world ? Humour is much needed. And humour and the GeeGee's ? WELL Thats pretty easy, they go together like a saddle and a numnah . . . Cosy !!

And these GeeGee's they are full of humour.  They never cease to surprise me with their antics and mischief.  After helping bring their story to life i have had to work alongside some of the most funny but at times TOTALLY annoying characters. Who if you take your eyes off them for more than two minutes they will be eating the manuscript or pooping on the illustrations. And at this stage I'M JUST NOT HAVING IT !!
I literally have to have eyes in the back of my head and at times it has come to the point where i have had to say GET OUT . . .Go and chew on the grass in the garden. I can't have you guys in the studio anymore.
Of course then every two minutes you get . . . TAP, TAP on the door and a 'feeling sorry'
for himself  GeeGee waving his hooves at you through the glass with them big googley eyes and pet lip. Pleeeeeeeease Miss Funky, I promise to be good.

How can i not let them back in when they do things like that ??

After all im telling their story, and beleive me when I say, It's interesting ! Oh yes, these GeeGee's are rather interesting characters ! Soooo I need to tolerate their ways, and they have MANY.
Including the dancing to the can can along to the tunes playing through my speakers.  Believe me it is VERY HARD to try and draw straight lines when the ground is shaking like a mini earthquake.
Im trying to pursuade them to try some yoga.  Theoretically then it should be quiet in the studio as they stretch and open chakras.  But well with the relaxation comes the side effects of flatulence .

Have you ever tried to edit a word document when the room is full of a distinct rotten grass smell ??  Not to be advised.  It plays havock with your eyesight when trying to read the letters of a sentence !! And as they tend not to be of the steadiest on their hooves these GeeGee's.  Well there usually ends up a whole heap of alphabet and numbers on screen to delete back out.  VERY FRUSTRATING.

But tolerate it I must.  They are fun characters to have around.  And I am loving bringing their story to life. Even if it means putting up with the mayhem that comes along with it.

And here i am creating one of the Illustrations . . .  Like I say, I must brush my hair lol !

Sooooo hopefully my next blog post should be a very positive one. And the book trailer will go live.

And I'm hoping to also be able to give a final release date for the book . . . . Eeeeeeek exciting and nerve racking all at the same time.  Thankgoodness for these GeeGee's cheering me up with their antics or id be crying all over the watercolour . . .

. . . OH MY, Imagine that, I'd be dooooomed !!!

Catch you soon
<3 Miss Funky.

The Christmas Letter

Hello, And I know it has been a VERY LOOOOONG TIME !!  But here I am :)
and  A BIG Googley eyed FUNKY Hello to you all friends <3 <3

Every Christmas since starting to create the Funky GeeGee's I have enjoyed creating Christmas Cartoons. It really helps to Get me into the spirit, All festive and Jolly.  And as the Children have grown they have started to look forward to them each year and watching them from blank paper, Sketch and then painted has been a very enjoyable experience for them this year.  So much so that they too have been enjoying some creative writing so we have had some extentions on the Frozen story from my daughter.  And my little boy is Minecraft mad so he has been writing about Steve and Santa . . .Bless them, So special !!  AND WE MUST really appreciate their little imaginations and help to nourish them as they grow.  Our Imaginations are so important to us, They help us to beleive.  And through life as we grow older it becomes harder to beleive with all the mis-trust we find around us..l It is these times when we really must access the imaginary, to help us to beleive and to give us hope and courage and above all . . . .  TO INSPIRE OTHERS to do the same <3

So this year, Instead of just some Christmasy illustrations (Although I really did enjoy Smurfie and the Snowman and Robin last year, and I definatly plan to add to these in the future, Cute little threesome they are <3 BUT  This Year I thought I would add to the normal Festive illustrating and also create a Christmas Story to go along with it.  A magical journey I allowed my mind to take me as I created the story and characters, Beleiving i was there, it was really happening, Controlling it but also letting it just take me with its intrusive magic . . . . And here is the result :)

I really hope you enjoy it and it fills you with a little bit of magic.  Its a continuing story that is uploaded each day from now til Christmas so please do pop back to follow the story :)

And I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a

Merry Christmas
and a fun filled
FUNKY New Year <3
