Hello,

I have been updating my blog and I have added a new page called PONY POETRY

Please go take a look, Here is one of my most recent poems I have written.

Through the eyes of our GeeGee's as we bake ourselves in the sun :)  ENJOY !!

I have created a couple of other GeeGee's lately too !! And this one has to be one of my favourite commissions.

 The owners character brief included

 " Higs is a typical TB Scared of everything !"

So here we have Higs staring in " The fetlock eating monster" HeHe

SO THEN . . . . What have the GeeGee's been upto in this HEATWAVE we have been blessed with lately ??

Well Some of them where quite happy just munching on their grass and snoozing in the shade, But for some of the GeeGee's it was just all too much, the heat was finally starting to get to them, and they had to take drastic action !!

There was hosepipes turning themselves on hmmmmm 'I WONDER HOW ?' There was buckets and wet ponies left right and centre . . . .And the wait for the water trough, well that was a story of its own.

However some of these geegee's as you know, Reeeeeally know how to get what they want, cunningly, quickly and precisely !!

WELL THIS GEEGEE DID . . . .She knew exactly how to cool down, to the outrage of the neighbourhoods children that is !!

I did help her back out, in fear of complete loss of control, fetlocks flying, a well watered lawn and 2 very disappointed children. She loved it though, and was much cooler afterwards.

SOME of the GeeGee's . . . .WELL They took it to a completely different level, and they headed off during the night on a journey to the seaside.

 "I Really do wish they would tell me before they trot of unknown !" ANYWAYS,

I may never of known, if it hadn't been for a passer by on his holidays just dipping his toes in the waves, who THANKFULLY happened to have his camera with him at the time !!

You simply wouldn't believe Me if I told you, I mean these GeeGee's, they continue to completely AMAZE me with their  UTTER randomness.

You just cannot take your eyes of them for 5 Minutes without them been upto no good, OR Doing disappearing acts before your very eyes !!

Just WHAT Were they thinking ? ? Can you imagine the vet bill if one of them was to be injured ? And how would I explain that to the veterinarian

 " Oh by the way, my horse seems to have sprained a tendon whilst

riding a banana boat in a bikini ? "

COME ON, SERIOUSLY These lot will have me taken away one day !! 

 LUCKILY There was no injuries, And fun was had by all even if they were swiftly frog marched back to the horsebox when I heard the news. There will be no carrots on the menu for a while for these 4, that's for sure !

BUT It was an experience, and one I definatly wont forget.

So what have I been upto lately then ?

Well apart from retrieving 4 completely nutty GeeGee's from a banana boat at the seaside, Not a lot really ! Well other than trying to cool down as the weather here has been so darn hot and air almost non existant. I have however now got quite a striking tan, and a lot of diferent shaped lines across my shoulders from each day a different style of vest top. Hmmm, like a zebra hahaha.

My Dog however, has really struggled with the heat, I am absolutely appauled at the amount of dogs I have seen left in cars with the window slightly down, it really angers me. We need a HOT DOG PATROL, Reported and issued a fine for dogs found in cars,It's torture for the poor little things.

Taz (Resident mutt) Has been getting spoiled in the heat, he has been playing in his paddling pool and having so much fun, he would splash around and then go sleep in the shade. Then come back later before snoozing again. HA The life of a dog eh !!

So a fun time was had by all, and we have all had a fantastic time in this summer glory.

Well, Must get back to some cartooning. I have a couple of commissions to do and a fantasticly Funky Doorsign to create too. So until next time,

Drum roll please for the new arrivals

Hello there Funky Fans :D

Well i did promise you something a little different, and i can honestly say i am over the moon with the final results of my new little creations. They are supa dupa cute !

Its been a fun journey, I have loved creating these little fun models, and seeing them from start to finish is a lovely and so rewarding. The funky geegees suddenly became real . . . . You could stroke them on the nose, LITERALLY

I didn't expect for one minute the interest these little dudes would gain, and on launching i had orders coming out my forlock.
My kitchen was a display of googley eyed creations, 
Of your faithful funky friends.

So as they were a new thing, and i really LOVE LOVE LOVE how they have turned out, i wanted to make them unique and FUNKY. So with a few hours surfing the web for all the chains and things to make them EVEN MORE FUNKY, a few clicks of some buttons, and a trip to the printers to get that extra finishing touch . . .. We now have a :

Thanks to the advice from a fellow artist, to a rather Numpty Miss Funky !! Thanks Ajay, Check out Ajay kerchey's work by clicking here, He does Wildlife art and its breathtaking, you can feel the emotion from each of his subjects, read them and you are somehow taken to their place of being, and feel their soft gentle natures as you melt into their eyes. I love how this artist captures the eyes of his subjects, they pull you into their thoughts.

Whilst the GeeGee's are applying their last few layers of blusher, mascara and half bottles of mane and tail conditioner :D

 Let me have a little shout out to a couple other fellow artists who's work i really love and whom i am glad to of met on my journey. Inspirational, talented, friendly and always there when you need a little advice.  

Please lets support our artists, remember that art comes from the heart, that we need to encourage our artists to keep creating by supporting them through their journeys and enjoying their visions they create. Because they dont only create their art for their own internal enjoyements, That inner peace that we recieve from creating our visions of our world. But also to share with the world the beauty of their subjects in their own unique styles  . . . . AND WOW thats what amazes me about artists, the sheer diversity you will find from each easel.

Like walking a path, taking in that scenary through their eyes. How amazing is that ? 

How often do you get to see the world through someone
 elses eyes? Their perspective, their imagination ??

 A feeling shared but viewed in different ways, a pick up of emotions from one person to another . . . . . . . . Through a picture ??

         I dont know about you, but I think that is  AMAZING:D

I love Jennifers work, i love the soft feel to her drawings, you can almost touch her subjects on the nose, or pat them on the head. And i can always read stories from their eyes and the expressions she cleverly captures that tell stories of whats going through her subjects mind at the time really pull you into the picture.

  I had my ponies commissioned couple years back and i can honestly say it is the ponies to a T.  Its so nice to have now i dont have the ponies, the amount of memories that drawing brings is amazing, it keeps them still close to me, their memories alive.

I just LOVE this ladies humour. Her artwork is just crazily amazing and full of giggles. And trust me when i say this . . . . YOU WILL NEVER look at a Hairy Cooo the same way ever again.

And a visit to your local petting farm after a browse through this Artists gallery, is sure to have you giggling with the images your imagination will throw at you !!

I have Many other artists that i follow and admire, like i say, each unique to their own style, their own vision, AND I'd be here all week if i had to give them all a shout out, because there is simply SOOOOOO Many of them, but NEVER EVER too many of them, embrace creativity, embrace the beauty of our world :D

But the GeeGee's here backstage are stomping their hooves with impatience, and worried with the heat of the studio lights their makeup might indeed run, and what a waste we all know that is.  And im rambling on about artists,
 and they want to strut their stuff.

 (However i've just had a quick glimpse behind the curtain there, and well ONE GeeGee in particular 

i think has over done it a bit with her makeup hmmmmm there is a fine line to cross my deary,

 and you may of crossed it  )

Hmmm, Honey I would tone down your lipstick shade, and maybe only use half of the bottle of mascara, love the blusher though, pink really brings out your cheekbones.

(Come on ? What else can i say, lets just all call her beautiful, and HEY At least she's put in the effort, And she is beautiful, just a little animated today hahaha )

This GeeGee on the other hand, obviously has completely the wrong idea of getting

 spruced up a bit . . . .

 . . . . Lets Just let him be, He does look kinda cool after all :D

Well they enjoyed that, and judging by the mess they have made backstage i best get off and find the sweeping brush and shovel. My word how much mess do these GeeGee's need to make ?

COR BLIMEY !! It's been a while, but busy busy !!

HELLOOOOOOO  . . . hahahaha :D

Its been a little while, I know.  But I am still here, and i have still been creating.  Just i havent been creating so much of my cartoons recently, I sort of went off tangent a little and decided to try my arty hand at some other work and painting a rather large and seemingly goes on forever fence :( . . .But that doesn't count, gardening is boring at times, i like planting seeds and stuff, but fence painting ? . . .  . . . Pass me a 10ft canvas anyday.

 Ive also been helping in School with the kids and a local artist, creating new wall murals for the school yard NOW THIS WAS FUN, VERY FUN, And i learnt lots too  .  . ..  . See like i say, Busy, busy :)

 I think after cartooning like crazy trying to get my final illustrations complete (Which may i add, i almost have completed . . .The 'Almost bit' is hard to swallow, I neeeeed to have these done very very soon !) BUT I hit a wall, so to speak . . .A big one with huuuuge bricks and i just needed a break from my cartoon brain and time to relight my inner creative light :)

So i created some different peices, I did a couple of horses, a few birds, a couple sandy beaches, bit dishy dashy here and a wishy washy there, and i even tried a person ! . .  . YEP, A 'real' looking person :) No quirky cute nose and twidly little cartoon fingers, A whole heap of pain in the butt, mind boggling shading to resemble the human features !! . . . .Remind me again why we can't have cute little button noses, and paws for feet and hands ?? Never mind . . . The challenge did me very good to be honest, and i really was pleased with the results :)

But my CARTOON head is back on now. And im feeling back into full motion, I think haha.
So now i can continue with my final illustrations for my book, and crack on with some exciting things i have lined up for you all. I have lots of ideas wizzing round, just wish i had some extra arms to hold the darn paintbrushes !!  Never mind, One must not winge, but just jilly jolly on and get there happy and in my own time, rather than rushed and bundled.

One painting i cannot wait to get onto is the final of the larger peices for the Summer 2013 peices. This one will be titled Beach Babes and will be the GeeGee's sunning themselves on their Jolly holiday. This is a very exciting collection that i have really enjoyed working on and getting together. I have almost finished the Airport but it is simply mind boggling crazy materiel . . . .You go dizzy working on it longer than a couple of hours, ive had to put it away for a while, but it will come back out soon Pheeeew !

So what else have i been cartooning lately ?

 WELL GUESS WHAT ? !!

I AM GOING TO HAVE MY OWN STUDIO SPACE !!

Yep like a REAL Studio, a place to go where i dont have to listen to Peppa pig, repetitive tunes on a running outta battery toy, clunk, clunk, clunk, as spiderman plays pinball around the living room !

YES . . . . . Finally a little 'Escape' Pad, In the garden :)

We are gunna start building work very soon, and this will be a perfect place to display my work instead of it been piled in . . . .'Cough'    . . . In Neat and tidy piles around my increasingly bursting home ! This will happen of course . . . .WHEN IT HAPPENS, But even sooooo EXCITING :)

Well, I will update very soon when i get some more craaaazy creations created :)

Until then here is a GeeGee who i just HAD TO Create, I love this song at the moment, Naughty boy ~ Sam smith. And this GeeGee was more than happy to slip into the costume of the little boy in the dance video and give me his best LaLaLa :D

Spring apparently is on its way !!

SPRING APPARENTLY IS ON IT'S WAY !!

We should prepare for upto 20 degrees on Sunday, Lets hope thats not with the side effects of RAIN or WINDS !!!

Anyway, I have been busy in the workshop lately and I have been creating some quirky Stable signs for some happy Horses and ponies :)  It had me thinking how COOL would it be to see a full yard of Funky signs !! It would be like walking round a little art gallery lol each resident with its own little quirky illustration  . . ..How much fun !! I have more products on their way in 2013, so wach this space !!

 

 

These signs are really FUNKY and they are guarenteed to stand out at your Stables !

Well I have heard we have some sunshine on the way . . . . . I really do hope so,

Im tired of grey skies and freezing ears. 

 Im looking forward to getting back out there and feeding my inspiration with some time

 at the stables. I would like to take my eldest riding soon, Will keep you updated how that goes.

 After his last pony owning experience, he has some confidence to rebuild !

 

Anyway, Im off to create some more FUNKYNESS :)

Its gotta be the COLDEST EASTER WEEKEND on record !!!!

WELL I CAN HONESTLY SAY I'M DONE WITH SNOW !!!!

Ok, Ok, SPRING, WHEREVER YOU ARE . . .YOU CAN GET YA BUTT OUT HERE NOW !!

I'm so fed up of it, I mean i love the snow don't get me wrong.  But this amount for this long is really started to wear me down. I miss the warmth, i wanna go out in just a thin jacket and not be layered like an onion in the midst of a deep freeze. I literally feel as if i have become a hedgehog, hibernating til spring, and wondering if it's slept too long and skipped a year ? ?

 Oh winge . . . I'l give up now Hahaha. Either that or work out away to become hardier in the weather (since not owning my little horsie friends, i find i have become somewhat of a wimp)

So then what have I done to keep myself busy whilst the freeze outside continues ?

WELL I have been working some more on my Funky illustrations for my book.  I am really enjoying these, slowly building them up with memories from my thrills and spills of memorable horsie owning days :)

I must admit however, with all this cold and freezing winds, im sorta enjoying my first winter without breaking water troughs and fiddling with freezing fingers and fly away surcingles . . . at 7 am !

I have also been doing a little in the way of my 'other art' I had a painting i started a while back i wanted to finish, and i really enjoyed the change working on something a little different to horses. This peice was a dream I had . . .Yep My dreams are rather FUNKY too :)

This week My little boy's school had an egg painting competion :) Oh i love a challenge !! So i sketched down some ideas for my egg.  I wanted something pretty easy, but unique. So after a play about with the pencil i decided that I would go for a school bus design, and incorporate the school logo in there. I worked til darn late on it, because the acrylic was adiment it was not going to play games and stick to the shell this time Aaaaarrrrggghhh, Then everything seemed to take forever to dry, but i did enjoy the challenge, and here is my Eggy creation :)

I have also been working on my Summer 2013 collection. 2012 collection went down really well and I wanted to continue the theme this summer, which i will create 5 peices on the theme :

' PACKAGE HOLIDAYS '

I have really enjoyed working on these so far, and I have One finished and

One part way there,and another is at the sketch stage.

These are really cheering me up, just thinking of the Summer sunshine on your back, the gentle sound of waves crashing. The smell of sun tan lotion fills the air as your troubles just

drift away with the tide !

SO THEN WHAT HAVE THE FUNKY GEEGEE'S

BEEN UPTO THEN ? ?

Well the weather has been so cold and dull and some describe it as

UNSEASONABLE DEPRESSING !!

Many of the GeeGee's have been just staying warm in their stables and topping up on their fibre intakes with a haynet ad-lib.  Some have braved the cold and enjoyed their time in the snow, looking anywhere they can for any possible signs of the green stuff thats been missing since Autumn !!

BUT THEN . . . .The papers came out, And the whole yard stood silent !! There was VERY VERY BAD NEWS in store for the GeeGee's. In the form of . .. . . .A SPRING GRASS SHORTAGE !!

It was a very silent day of utter dis-belief, So much so that there has been a huuuge reward placed for anyone who can find the spring sunshine to shine upon their paddocks to bring light to the land and let it thrive with sweet green delicious SPRING GRASS !

There has also been some AWFUL Bugs going round the yard, and the tack room stock of vapour rub is slowly running low, Spoilt I'm not sure, but for some reason I have been demanded to fetch hot lemonade's and duvets for all in need of some TLC and plenty cuddles.  It's been a demanding and tiring job, but it's worth it when you see them banging on their doors and destroying their water buckets again !!

The Scientists of the GeeGee world have been working with top class computer programming to work out the evolutionary journey of the Equine species from data they have today and their future projections of climate change.  They have come up with an Artists impression of how the Equine species may evolve giving our Summers are becoming wetter and our winters longer. This is a projection of what their programming and expertise came up with :

Well even when life outside seems cold, dull and still . . . .We can still fill our lives with colour and warmth from deep inside our hearts.

I will leave you with that thought, as I go warm my thoughts with some Funky Summer GeeGee's and a hectic busy Airport ! . . . .Watch this space :)

SNOW . . .SNOW . . .SNOW

YEP . . . . IT HAS DEFINATLY BEED A WHITE OUT  . . . . but soooooo much fun !!

So here we are It's comming to the end of January, and we are snowed in !! 

The snow began on Saturday and hasn't stopped until today !! Im not complaining though !! . .  . .

 . . . we have made a snow horse, snow angels, been sledging and just genuinly enjoyed this

 fun stuff that is up to our knees ! 

Today though, We have had enough of it, Walking is terrible and pathways are invisable under mountainous heaps of snow from the plough that cleared the roads !

Thanks for that by the way council !!  Nice to see you look after the ones who drive, and expect the walkers to share the road too . . . . I Think we need to dress up like a corsa, That would be the only safe way to walk on these roads !

Any way, lets not worry,Snow melts eventually and while its here lets just enjoy it :)

SO THEN WHAT ELSE HAVE I BEEN UPTO ?

Well the Christmas rush is well and truelly over, although it was only a few weeks ago it feels like months !! I have been kicking the January blues and keeping busy looking forward to the New year, thinking up ideas to keep me plodding on !!

We havent been doing many arts and crafts at home lately, the children are happy playing with their new toys, and the closest we have got to arty stuff has been the Playdo icecreams and sweets we made . . . . . Oh how yummy they looked, shame we could'nt eat Them !!

I also treated myself to some Fimo . . . .Oh such fun !! I have been busy creating little googley eyed ponies, cups, cakes, donuts, and even a cup of hot chocolate !! . . . I have really enjoyed learning this new skill, and I must say when I bought it I though WOW . . . That looks easy . . .HA !

How wrong was I ? Hats completely off to all fimo artists and mini model painters !!

So the Fimo horses turned out ok, Now what to do with them ? . .  .Well this is something  that I will be looking into over next week or so, Im looking into lots of new products that can be completely customised to your horse or pony !!

I've also been busy sketching the Carousel ponies, They are so dainty and pretty I want to make sure that they are perfect !! They have a large fan base, and I need the fans to be able to see the humour as well as be able to make out which pony they are . . . . . I Have nearly 30 to choose from they are all cute, I will be creating 5 - 6 of them !! They NEED to look like the ponies they are !!

Ontop of this I have had alot of commissions this month, I thought January may be quiet but it is proving to be as busy as pre Christmas, I have been creating alot of Stable signs, and small paintings. Plus I have just finished my first 16 " x 20" stretched canvas commission of 2013 !! I love working on Stretched canvas, this is by far my favourite !!

What else have the GeeGee's been upto then ?

Well you know what they are like . . . .You just can't stop these lot !!

When the snow fell, They just had to get out in it !! Well some did, the others decided they would rather stay in . . . . Some ponies were just much too small, they should never of gone out, It was inevitable what was going to happen, they should of seen it coming . . .  . . . I simply had to get the camera !!

HAHAHA . . . .  I simply had to Giggle before helping them all out !!  Like I say, The snow has been deep !!



Some of the Funky GeeGee's were a little more prepared, I did warn them that it was cold.

We had more snow on the way and, it had been advised that unless you really needed to go out

 you should stay inside safe and warm !! This GeeGee though had other ideas, He knew exactly how to get outside for some exercise and stay warm too.  I honestly couldn't beleive my eyes when he walked out of the stable . . . . WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE WEARING ? ?

So did I let him go out like that ? . . .  Of course I did, You try arguing with a GeeGee on a mission, However I did mention the coffee tap and said I would advice He used de-caff !!

Some of the GeeGee's had more sence, Oh and more style !! They decided that staying in with Haylage ad-lib and a warm cosy bed to stand on was a much brighter idea, There were a few of them that decided they were going to hibernate til it was over, PJ'S all the way !! 

DOESN'T She look sweet ?  And the best thing is, she's warm !! Im unsure about the mucking out though . . . .Slightly worried

 where it may all go !!

Now I know we have to watch these ponies !! . . . . Like I have said so many times before, There is JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THEM !!

 That secret society of cunningly secretive mischief hunting horses !!

YEP THEY HAVE BEEN AT IT AGAIN !! . . . . Only walked away  for a split second and turned back round to this !! . . . .Its a good job I had my Camera !!

You simply wouldnt beleive it if I told you !!

SO THEN . . . .There you have it !!

You just can't take your eyes off your Horses  . . . LIKE NEVER !! . .

 . .  They get upto no good,

Dress sence becomes terrible, they Start dancing with the grooms,

and they get themselves into situations that only you can 

 go and get them out of !!

Well I must get on, I have another sign to get painted, and another to start . . . .Im looking forward to seeing FUNKYNESS in every single Yard !!
