Its gotta be the COLDEST EASTER WEEKEND on record !!!!

WELL I CAN HONESTLY SAY I'M DONE WITH SNOW !!!!

Ok, Ok, SPRING, WHEREVER YOU ARE . . .YOU CAN GET YA BUTT OUT HERE NOW !!

I'm so fed up of it, I mean i love the snow don't get me wrong.  But this amount for this long is really started to wear me down. I miss the warmth, i wanna go out in just a thin jacket and not be layered like an onion in the midst of a deep freeze. I literally feel as if i have become a hedgehog, hibernating til spring, and wondering if it's slept too long and skipped a year ? ?

 Oh winge . . . I'l give up now Hahaha. Either that or work out away to become hardier in the weather (since not owning my little horsie friends, i find i have become somewhat of a wimp)

So then what have I done to keep myself busy whilst the freeze outside continues ?

WELL I have been working some more on my Funky illustrations for my book.  I am really enjoying these, slowly building them up with memories from my thrills and spills of memorable horsie owning days :)

I must admit however, with all this cold and freezing winds, im sorta enjoying my first winter without breaking water troughs and fiddling with freezing fingers and fly away surcingles . . . at 7 am !

I have also been doing a little in the way of my 'other art' I had a painting i started a while back i wanted to finish, and i really enjoyed the change working on something a little different to horses. This peice was a dream I had . . .Yep My dreams are rather FUNKY too :)

This week My little boy's school had an egg painting competion :) Oh i love a challenge !! So i sketched down some ideas for my egg.  I wanted something pretty easy, but unique. So after a play about with the pencil i decided that I would go for a school bus design, and incorporate the school logo in there. I worked til darn late on it, because the acrylic was adiment it was not going to play games and stick to the shell this time Aaaaarrrrggghhh, Then everything seemed to take forever to dry, but i did enjoy the challenge, and here is my Eggy creation :)

I have also been working on my Summer 2013 collection. 2012 collection went down really well and I wanted to continue the theme this summer, which i will create 5 peices on the theme :

I have really enjoyed working on these so far, and I have One finished and

One part way there,and another is at the sketch stage.

These are really cheering me up, just thinking of the Summer sunshine on your back, the gentle sound of waves crashing. The smell of sun tan lotion fills the air as your troubles just

drift away with the tide !

SO THEN WHAT HAVE THE FUNKY GEEGEE'S

BEEN UPTO THEN ? ?

Well the weather has been so cold and dull and some describe it as

UNSEASONABLE DEPRESSING !!

Many of the GeeGee's have been just staying warm in their stables and topping up on their fibre intakes with a haynet ad-lib.  Some have braved the cold and enjoyed their time in the snow, looking anywhere they can for any possible signs of the green stuff thats been missing since Autumn !!

BUT THEN . . . .The papers came out, And the whole yard stood silent !! There was VERY VERY BAD NEWS in store for the GeeGee's. In the form of . .. . . .A SPRING GRASS SHORTAGE !!

It was a very silent day of utter dis-belief, So much so that there has been a huuuge reward placed for anyone who can find the spring sunshine to shine upon their paddocks to bring light to the land and let it thrive with sweet green delicious SPRING GRASS !

There has also been some AWFUL Bugs going round the yard, and the tack room stock of vapour rub is slowly running low, Spoilt I'm not sure, but for some reason I have been demanded to fetch hot lemonade's and duvets for all in need of some TLC and plenty cuddles.  It's been a demanding and tiring job, but it's worth it when you see them banging on their doors and destroying their water buckets again !!

The Scientists of the GeeGee world have been working with top class computer programming to work out the evolutionary journey of the Equine species from data they have today and their future projections of climate change.  They have come up with an Artists impression of how the Equine species may evolve giving our Summers are becoming wetter and our winters longer. This is a projection of what their programming and expertise came up with :

Well even when life outside seems cold, dull and still . . . .We can still fill our lives with colour and warmth from deep inside our hearts.

SNOW . . .SNOW . . .SNOW

YEP . . . . IT HAS DEFINATLY BEED A WHITE OUT  . . . . but soooooo much fun !!

So here we are It's comming to the end of January, and we are snowed in !! 

The snow began on Saturday and hasn't stopped until today !! Im not complaining though !! . .  . .

 . . . we have made a snow horse, snow angels, been sledging and just genuinly enjoyed this

 fun stuff that is up to our knees ! 

Today though, We have had enough of it, Walking is terrible and pathways are invisable under mountainous heaps of snow from the plough that cleared the roads !

Thanks for that by the way council !!  Nice to see you look after the ones who drive, and expect the walkers to share the road too . . . . I Think we need to dress up like a corsa, That would be the only safe way to walk on these roads !

Any way, lets not worry,Snow melts eventually and while its here lets just enjoy it :)

SO THEN WHAT ELSE HAVE I BEEN UPTO ?

Well the Christmas rush is well and truelly over, although it was only a few weeks ago it feels like months !! I have been kicking the January blues and keeping busy looking forward to the New year, thinking up ideas to keep me plodding on !!

We havent been doing many arts and crafts at home lately, the children are happy playing with their new toys, and the closest we have got to arty stuff has been the Playdo icecreams and sweets we made . . . . . Oh how yummy they looked, shame we could'nt eat Them !!

I also treated myself to some Fimo . . . .Oh such fun !! I have been busy creating little googley eyed ponies, cups, cakes, donuts, and even a cup of hot chocolate !! . . . I have really enjoyed learning this new skill, and I must say when I bought it I though WOW . . . That looks easy . . .HA !

How wrong was I ? Hats completely off to all fimo artists and mini model painters !!

So the Fimo horses turned out ok, Now what to do with them ? . .  .Well this is something  that I will be looking into over next week or so, Im looking into lots of new products that can be completely customised to your horse or pony !!

I've also been busy sketching the Carousel ponies, They are so dainty and pretty I want to make sure that they are perfect !! They have a large fan base, and I need the fans to be able to see the humour as well as be able to make out which pony they are . . . . . I Have nearly 30 to choose from they are all cute, I will be creating 5 - 6 of them !! They NEED to look like the ponies they are !!

Ontop of this I have had alot of commissions this month, I thought January may be quiet but it is proving to be as busy as pre Christmas, I have been creating alot of Stable signs, and small paintings. Plus I have just finished my first 16 " x 20" stretched canvas commission of 2013 !! I love working on Stretched canvas, this is by far my favourite !!

What else have the GeeGee's been upto then ?

Well you know what they are like . . . .You just can't stop these lot !!

When the snow fell, They just had to get out in it !! Well some did, the others decided they would rather stay in . . . . Some ponies were just much too small, they should never of gone out, It was inevitable what was going to happen, they should of seen it coming . . .  . . . I simply had to get the camera !!

HAHAHA . . . .  I simply had to Giggle before helping them all out !!  Like I say, The snow has been deep !!



Some of the Funky GeeGee's were a little more prepared, I did warn them that it was cold.

We had more snow on the way and, it had been advised that unless you really needed to go out

 you should stay inside safe and warm !! This GeeGee though had other ideas, He knew exactly how to get outside for some exercise and stay warm too.  I honestly couldn't beleive my eyes when he walked out of the stable . . . . WHAT ON EARTH WAS HE WEARING ? ?

So did I let him go out like that ? . . .  Of course I did, You try arguing with a GeeGee on a mission, However I did mention the coffee tap and said I would advice He used de-caff !!

Some of the GeeGee's had more sence, Oh and more style !! They decided that staying in with Haylage ad-lib and a warm cosy bed to stand on was a much brighter idea, There were a few of them that decided they were going to hibernate til it was over, PJ'S all the way !! 

DOESN'T She look sweet ?  And the best thing is, she's warm !! Im unsure about the mucking out though . . . .Slightly worried

 where it may all go !!

Now I know we have to watch these ponies !! . . . . Like I have said so many times before, There is JUST SOMETHING ABOUT THEM !!

 That secret society of cunningly secretive mischief hunting horses !!

YEP THEY HAVE BEEN AT IT AGAIN !! . . . . Only walked away  for a split second and turned back round to this !! . . . .Its a good job I had my Camera !!

You simply wouldnt beleive it if I told you !!

SO THEN . . . .There you have it !!

You just can't take your eyes off your Horses  . . . LIKE NEVER !! . .

 . .  They get upto no good,

Dress sence becomes terrible, they Start dancing with the grooms,

and they get themselves into situations that only you can 

 go and get them out of !!

Well I must get on, I have another sign to get painted, and another to start . . . .Im looking forward to seeing FUNKYNESS in every single Yard !!

Now lets onto 2013 with a KABOOOOM !!

SO THEN . . .  . . I HOPE YOU ALL HAD A CRAZY, FULL OF FUN CHRISTMAS !!!!

Our Christmas was Fantastic, Santa has well and truelly spoilt our children . . . .Next year I aim to leave him some bricks and mortar with his Biscuits and Juice so he can build us a darn extention !! . . .  . . In a new build with limited storage and space . .  . .

. . .. Where the heck does He expect us to put it all ? ?

Now there is a house near us up for rent . . .There lies a possibility !! ? OK OK, Just kidding, I mean it wouldnt really be fare would it hahaha !!

Christmas day in the Funky household was not a step away from MANIC !! . . . .My word, Im sure both Mr Funky and I are now fully qualified engineers and production line staff !!

Every single thing required batteries, was tied in the box with billions of wires and strings, had little bits to add or stickers needed, required building, or was so darn noisy One could not concentrate on building for such an incoherant racket !!!

 Ok I'm sounding like I begrude it . . . .I don't . . . .Its all part of the day and i simply LOVE IT :)

The whole family together, all smiles, eagerness, giggles and gratefulness for the fact we are all here together . . . .On such a special day, but also throughout our lifetimes so far !!

Dinner was delicious, and I must admit that on this occasion my eyes were far bigger than My belly !! My word we were spoilt for choice with what was on the menu, the kids absolutely loved it, and thoroughly enjoyed pulling crackers, fizzy pop in wine glasses so they looked like the grown ups, and chatting around the table, It was a fantastic day !!

Boxing day we had another Fab day, and we visited the Family we couldnt see on Christmas day, it was like another Christmas, we all had a lovely time . . . .And left simply EXHAUSTED !!

So after a few days to just relax and enjoy time off, I have had time to think of my plans with the Funky GeeGee's in the coming 2013 . . . . .

 . . . . OMG, MY HEADS ON FIRE WITH IDEAS . . .I CAN'T WAIT TO GET CRACKING WITH IT  . . . AND SHARE THE GIGGLES WITH YOU ALL :)

Firstly on the Agenda is the Extension to the already very popular

  COBS JUST HAVE TO . . .   COLLECTION.

This collection that was Launched in 2012 has hit the shelves with a BANG And has become increasingly popular amongst not only Horsey fans but just simply FANS OF COBS !!!

Lets Face it though . . . . . Cobs are fantastic :) !!!! 

So I will be increasing the collection further with even more GIGGLES In the

COBILARIOUS FORM !!

And I can Guarentee . . .You will Love em :)

Whilst working on the Cobs collection it has given me the opportunity to reminiss over my

 Cob owning days.  I remember them well, I have owned a few cobs over the years but my favourite Cob will always be My little COBSTAR Rowan :)

I loved this pony, together I learned so so much, He was one of them ponies once you had met him . . . .He would not allow you to forget him in a hurry !!  He was the perfect best friend and we had some great adventures together, and fun by the bucketloads !!

I am running a Cob theme over the next few weeks on the Funky GeeGee's Facebook page and so far I have met some SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL . . .Cobs from some of my very lucky Cob Owning fans !!

They are simply lovely Animals, aren't they !!

So then What other plans has my head been exploding

with for 2013 ? ?

Well I have many cartoon sketch creations lined up in my sketchbook

( Ok I admit it, No darn sketchbook, just a whole heap of tatty stacked peices of paper, carfully piled and stuffed in every nook and craney within the home office !!)

  I must must must learn to be more tidy !! Ah whats the point . . . .Its more fun coming across them months later and going . . . .Oooooo Now there is an Idea !! :) 

I am going to be bringing some of these to life over the next year, as well as the Hilarious seasonal pictures still to come !!

Im also just working on the final details of An exiting new book I hope to launch in 2013 Staring all your favourite Funky GeeGee's and plenty GIGGLES  GUARENTEED!!

On top of that I have some charity work lined up, featuring some very lovable characters that will help a very worthy cause. More details to follow !!

I also have a You tube video I am hoping to create and Launch in Springtime 2013 which I hope will inspire many to be . . . . A little bit FUNKY :)

HO . .  HO . . . HO  !!!  

Man in the Redsuit 

HERE WE GO !!

  Ok so in one word how to describe me at this moment in time is . . . . .

            . . . . . .  AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH !!!!

Is that a word ? ? I'm not even sure it is . . . . BUT Lets try it again see how it sounds . . . .

 . . . . . . . . . . AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH !!!!

Yep, Better.  I suppose we can just 'LET IT' be a word, after all we all say it enough don't we ?!!

But this time of year, I find I say it more mainly due to been so busy with juggling school events, with after school events, Planning, and preparing, Playing Elf, and introducing Santa, creating magic, and re living childhood and of course keeping hold of my sanity  !!
SO . . . . Ive decided i would quite like to be a child if that would be ok !!
Im going to build myself a TIME MACHINE and zoom back to being 5 . . . . Why not ?

I mean my 5 year old for instance has the life of piggin riley !! . . . .

 . . . . . He gets to eat, sleep, play when He likes,

 He can paint when he likes ( <--When 'HE' likes, GET THAT ??  . . . . . Wish i could !! )

 He can make as much mess as he likes, and turn on His selective hearing as Mammy yells

"tidy up" and, ends up doing it anyway . . . . .  Just as He likes !!

He has a bedroom full of cool toys which never get touched, That apparently he liked !!

A wardrobe full of clothes that actually fit . . . . . Just as he likes !!  ( Get that . . . ACTUALLY FIT !! . . . Whats that ? Mine are all either belted tight, or causing harm to my circulatory system !)

He has a healthy balanced diet,  freshly cooked for Him . . .  .He swears He doesn't like !!

I MEAN . . . . COME ON !!!  Why the heck did we have to grow up  ?? Where's the fun in that ?

What I mostly want to be 5 for, is for that MAGIC !! That bottom of the gut exitement, as you wait in anticipation for that Bubbly old man in his festive Red suit !!

I remember the build up well. . . . . Eeeeeek have I been good ? ?

And then there is the snow . . . . .COME ON, PLEASE SNOW !!

Which then leads to the FUN . . . . . . SNOWBALL FIGHT !!!!

Which leads to the Bubbly cold Man in his ice suit . . . . . .SNOWMAN !!!!

And of course pinching a carrot from your Mothers fridge . . . . . . . . CHEERS !!

And then of course there is all the school stuff, Ample Arts and Crafts, singalongs and of course practicing hard for your . . . . . NATIVITY, when you get your 'ONE SHOT' At been the best Shepard or Angel you can be, perhaps you will give a gift of Humiliated !! As you trip on entrance, get your wings caught in the cross fire, find a bogey through the song, or of course the One time favourite . .                                .  . . . . . .FALL OFF THE STAGE !!

BUT the real magic begins when that final bell goes for the half term . . . . . . 2 WEEKS OFF FOR CHRISTMAS . . . .  WOOOOOHOOOOO !!! (  <-- Well that dont happen No-more !!) 

And from then on its just pure and simply MAGIC !!

So then . . . . .Obviously the above aint gunna happen to me anytime soon !!

 I am far from 5 ( Not too far, but far enough ) and  I cannot build that darn time machine because i aint a MAD SCIENTIST, CRAZY INVENTOR, OR BLINKIN MILLIONAIRE !!

                             ( Well the Mad and Crazy bit, perhaps that is debatable )

But what I have got the ability to do, is capture some of that MAGIC back, through My gift i have been blessed My beautiful children.
 They are at that age, when the Christmas magic is as real . . . . .
                                               . .  as a Bubbly man stuck in ya chimney !!

So  the Mini Funkies and I have been doing lots of things in the run up to the festive month. We have decided that recycle is better than buying new . . . . . . IT'S A RECESSION YOU KNOW !!!

So first things on the Agenda are cards, I aint buying them . .  ..NOPE !!  Every year we recieve so many cards we  almost resemble the rainforest in our living room, swamped down in a mountain of cards, paper string and blu - tak !! There are always some fantastic designs and They are soooooooooo cute, I LOVE CHRISTMAS CARDS DO YOU ? ?

 But out of all the cards we recieve the ones that REALLY STAND OUT Are the handmade ones, with care, with thought, with consideration !!

 For that 5, 10, 15 minutes of someones time, you were the centre of that persons thought . .
 . . . How AMAZING IS THAT ? ?  A card completely made for you,with part of you already in it !!

(At this point i should probably put my Business hat on and say . . . . HANG ON . . . .Cant find it !!

  . . . Oh there, RIGHT, Funky GeeGee's also offer Handmade cards, they start at £5 each, painted with your choice of Funky Cartoon horse, embelishments, the works . . . .GLITTER ? ? OH YEAH !! We have had great fun, weve gone through 2 bottles of PVA glue ( One spilled . . . .Clummit ME !!)

Lots of glitter ( Henry the hoover has since requested a payrise or he is leaving me !), shingles, sequins, embelishments off all of last years greatfully recieved cards (See recycle !!)

For obvious reasons, i want them to be a suprise for the recipients !!

This week we will be starting with some special little inexpensive handmade gifts for Grandma's . . . HeHe i am having so much fun !!

                                           All ya gotta do is re-light it !!

So then I  hear you ask . . . . What have the Funky GeeGee's been upto in preperation for the Bubbly man in the Festive red suit ? . . . .

This week we had our first Snowfall, Kids loved it, we got all giddy as you do,
 threw a few snowballs at each and took the Hyper pooch for a walk with the camera,

                                                   BUT Nothing prepared us for this !!

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT !! . . . . Well there you have it !! . .

         Their rugs are thoroughly soaked through !!

Most of all lets  remember the Ones who can no longer share that Christmas Magic with us, Christmas time in Heaven and boy i wish i could just visit for an hour.  I  know that i will especially Miss my Granda, it's the second Christmas without him and it is no easier than the First,

 I Miss him so much and all the quirks that came with him, like his wacky christmas sweaters knitted by my Gran, happily recieved but not so happily worn . . . Poor Man lol.

 And then there were of course the stories,Christmas pasts and Memories shared, 

 I will also never forget the true meaning of Christmas, told from a wise Man with 100% true belief in his Religion, i will always be thankful for them building stones in life something we must learn from a very early age . . .

 We need open Our hearts not Our eyes and listen . . .

Halloween and i want to be an Artistic Octipus !!!

                                              Eeeeek Yes  . . . . . Here we go again !!!

                                  Another fun Filled Season of plenty GIGGLES OUT LOUD !!!

HALLOWEEN  . .. . .Woooooooo Spoooooky fun, Then we have Bonfire night . . .Snap, Crackle n pop but without the Bowl of milk !! AND Then onto my favourite time of all . . . .. .CHRISTMAS !!! Yep that time of the year when the man in the red suit decides if i've been a good girl or not (I'm almost certain i have) !!


Anyway, Me and the Funky GeeGee's have been preparing all Summer for this FUN Filled time, and preparation has certainly gotta be key. So we have reached the begining of this season with great optimism that its going to be full to - the - top of the wheelbarrow with  FUN, FUN, FUN !!!!!!

So for Halloween i have been creating some real wacky Guess the Film pictures, Ive had great fun creating these guys . . . . well apart from Mr Funky (My better half/ or so he likes to think teehee) making me a mammoth list of every single horror film he can think of for me to create (I just picked my Favourites lol) !! Im sure he just likes to give me a challenge . . .. . .But hey lets not complain !! A challenge is what keeps us going . . . . Or thats what i keep telling myself !!!

Anyway i managed to create some really FUNKY and supa dupa Scaaaaaarrrrrry Halloween themed piccies, Here is just a couple of my favourites i did . . . . .

Anyway, i did have great fun creating these, some i did in Acrylic, Some in Watercolour and then i decided that i would raid the childrens coloured pencils again to complete the set !!

 

I'm feeling like a child again, The kids definatly help with that !!

 They too have a very busy scedule at school and Nursery, Harvest festivals and Halloween disco's . . . . .Eeeeeee it has all been going on, Everything seems to be inspiring at the moment, And i sometimes wish i were born an Artistic Octopus !!

I mean imagine having 8 hands to use !!

I could literally create everything that springs to mind !! Paintbrush and pencils at the ready . . .

 . . . .How fun !!

I must be mad . . . .. Oh hang on a minute, Just remembered . . .. I am mad !!

Right down to my little toe completely and utterly Barmy !!

 

So now i am working on even more Christmas designs . . . . . .Now these are going to be FUNKY !!

 

I will keep you informed on how my Christmasy designs are coming on . . . .

 . . But right now i need to get back to a certain little Miss Funky and a rather hyper Dog . .  .

. . .Before my living room resembles a war zone !!
