Cutlery Heroes and Russian dolls??

Well the GeeGee's are on their way back to UK grass as we speak, and from the sound of their excited tone down the phone? I am guessing they have had a great time!!

I haven't had any messages or calls about any major
 mischief or mayhem -
(Well other than the few things the Agent has told me, like Pillow fights and Segways and such like, BUT they don't know i know about that so Shhhhh!)

- They apparently got let off with the damage to the pillows though because last night they helped capture someone who tried to steal the cutlery tray from the restaurant at the hotel?!! I'm not sure of the details, i couldn't understand their excited speech as they tried to tell me . . .

. . . Apparently though they are now HEROES!!??

I'm looking forward to them coming home and telling me all about their FUNKY adventure,
I can't wait to hear their spin on these Segway things (Pun intended lol) lets cue every excuse under the sun, either that or fail to mention them at all?

I also want to hear about how they felt when they were there, how was their FUNKY journey?
Was it magical being somewhere you haven't been before and seeing it all for the very first time?
Not just as a 2D picture in a glossy brochure, but as the REAL THING to be really there and to be able to touch it, smell it, hear it, and see it with their own googley eyes!! I bet it was AMAZING FOR THEM!! I can't wait to hear their stories.

My Agent says that they have been into the City again today and visited a little Art gallery and The Armoury to have a look around. Frog was a little clumsey and almost caused mayhem when he fell into the ropes surrounding an old fireplace with brass vases, the vases wobbled and as quick as Frog was trying to steady them his big butt would knock another!! Hattie apparently tried to help but before they knew it they were surrounded by security guards asking what their intentions were! OH DEAR! Nothing was broken from what I have heard, but they were asked to stand right next to the tour guide and not leave his side and if it happened again they would be asked to leave. All would of been well if they had just listened, but apparently further round the tour they came across a big carriage and couldn't help themselves from pretending to be the Queens horses pulling their golden carriage.

 Yep, you guessed it . . .

. . . They were asked to leave!!

They waited patiently (Now there is a first) outside the building, My Agent said it looked like they were rather huffed and sat drawing pictures with their hooves on the pavement. When the tour had finished they rejoined the group and they headed off to the gift shop, Agent says it was small and full to the brim of Russian dolls and EASY TO BREAK plates and decorated eggs. OH DEAR!!
I d aren't even doodle it in my FUNKY cartoon brain!  Can you imagine the mess they could potentially make in a GIFT SHOP?!
It looked like they loved playing with the Russian dolls, Agent says they seemed a little baffled when putting them back together though and hooves were not the best instruments for the job!

Apparently though they were really well behaved and came out with a little carrier bag, so maybe they have bought themselves a lovely little souvenir to bring back to remind them of their adventure? Awwwww, how cute, i can't wait for them to come home and tell me all about it, As mischievous as they are, I MISS THE GOOGLEY EYED FUNKY'S!!

Here is a picture I was sent from My Agent of them both  'Gift Shopping'
I'm just so glad they kept control of them FUNKY, knobberly fetlocks!!

Wow and what a weekend

So Sunday night and all is quiet upon the FUNKY household :)

Its been a very emotional weekend. COR BLIMEY HAS IT!! From Friday onwards has been a rollercoaster of every emotion rolled into one big round bale and then rolled down a big steep hill.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . . . .

. . . But here I am and it is Sunday night and I'm sat with a smile still upon my face and i'm wondering actually how to stop smiling so much because my cheeks are beginning to hurt :D
But smile i must as i am so proud to see them googley eyed ponies out there in the big wide world :) I hope many enjoy their story as it unfolds.

I have read it over and over and the HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEKEND has been to sit with the children and read it to them on their tablet. Mini Funky grasped the story really well, He said that it was about the ponies of the world teaching children how to be caring and loving. How there would be plenty carrots to share with EVERYONE.  He said if the boys and girls are naughty then the ponies are naughty. And Ponies are REALLY REALLY FUNNY (Yes I think we can all agree there can't we) Baby Funky is a little young to quite grasp it yet but She enjoyed the rhythm to the story and she giggled at the illustrations which as a Mum brings tears straight to your eyes, when your children sit next to you snuggled in tight and you are reading them YOUR story on a tablet  OMG I'm just rather overwhelmed with emotions and pride i think would be the words!!

So lots of giggles have been had. As well as some amazing messages of encouragement from some special people who have shared my adventure as i chased my dream. So everytime i have opened my inbox i have had to make sure that i have tissues next to me at the ready, i'm just blown away by everyone's response. THANKYOU SO MUCH TO YOU ALL.

So i'm going to give myself a couple of weeks off to enjoy the Easter holidays with the children and to spend some time with the Ponies hopefully with Mr Sunshine wearing his big bold hat like He has today, It has been a beautiful day and I even seen my first ladybird this year . . . .SPRING COMING SOON TO A GARDEN NEAR YOU :D

So after the Easter break I shall be getting back to the drawing board and back with the pen and paper and i will be trying to pull all these ideas wizzing round like a merry go round into some form ready for the second book i have planned in the series.

So a little creative break to let my brain recover some. Although it is not a complete creative break as I have just been informed tonight by Baby Funky that she wants me to enter the parent egg decorating competition!!  Soooo tomorow i shall be busy busy boiling eggs and making them into something GREAT. Hmmmmm I'm yet to decide what and Baby Funky cannot make up her mind.  So GREAT isn't too GREAT at the moment but I am ever hopeful for some Eggy brainwave to come of some 3D masterpiece :)  I will keep you informed on how it goes :)

Well I'm off now to make a cuppa, put my feet up and watch some TV I have a busy week ahead with end of term stuff before the Easter break and I would like to try and organize my hazard zone . . .

. . . I mean HOUSE ready for them to probably just turn upside down and inside out whilst they are off. But hey ho that's just how it goes!

Catch up soon <3 Miss Funky.

Getting ever so close now and the excitement is rocking the kitchen

Hi Funky's hows it going ?

It is getting ever so close now to release and i'm hopeful i can give a release date in the next day or two just a couple of last things to be sure of first :)  BUT i can safely say the excitement is ROCKING THE KITCHEN . . . LITERALLY.  The Funky GeeGee's are pacing back and forth causing tracks in the kitchen lino i have threatened them if they do not stop i will have to sell their carrots to pay for new flooring. Hmmmmm that did not go down very well and within minutes they had changed route and direction to compensate for the tracks already there.

NOW MY FLOOR LOOKS LIKE AN ABSTRACT PAINTING!!

Sooooo what else has been going on in Funky studio?  WELL this week was world book day for the children at school and i was rather gutted that their was not an opportunity for them to dress up. It was pj's for Baby Funky and for Mini Funky it was school uniform and a book quiz trail (Which was fun, but could of been more fun if we had lots of little characters running round school) But we had a great time answerng the quiz questions together and rattling round all the corners of school looking for the answers.  These early years are just so precious.  And Mini Funky is growing so so quickly and seems to know so many things and some of it just VRrrrrooooooms straight over my head.
Baby Funky has had a growth spurt so as well as trousers with ankle ventilation.  She also looks like a little lady,She's a proper little princess. Very girlie UNLIKE HER MUM :)

The children are doing the end papers for my book. We were walking to school one day discussing them and what they may like to create and share. We somehow went from the idea of carrots and apples, to spaceships with neon lights and princesses with magic powers . . . .Hmmmm I did try and explain to them that it is a HORSE book.  And their reply?

Well you make the Funky GeeGee's wear
dresses and fly spaceships.

Smurf has even been seen on a broomstick!!

OK FAIR ARGUMENT. Yes indeed the GeeGee's have been seen in space shuttles and wearing tiara's and long frocks.  So I suppose this matter has some room for compromise. And it is still a WIP.  But i promise when you read the book and you see their little end papers they have painted pictures for.  Their hearts, imaginations, and creative spirit has gone into them. And they are both proud and over the moon that they can have this opportunity to share them with you.  I love my little Artists <3

So we shall have the end papers ready by Sunday night ready to go into the manuscript too :) And I am ever hopeful that the 3rd week of the month is going to be when i can let the Funky GeeGee's Freeeeeee with their story :)

This coming week will be finalizing everything and getting the GeeGee's all spruced up ready to meet the world.  And WOW are they excited. And so am I :) :) Eeeeeek MASSIVE GOOFY SMILES :)

Finishing off the final few Illustrations for the book last week :)

FAR TOO MANY LATE NIGHTS!! . . .Makes Miss Funky look like THIS. YIKES.

I think i best get myself FUNKY'd up a bit for the book launch.  Can't be sprucing the GeeGee's up and then have Miss Funky stand there like a neglected shetland pony in full winter coat. lol.

SO NOT LONG NOW THEN . . . . And I shall guarantee some GIGGLES OUT LOUD:)

Catch you all soon <3 Miss Funky xxx

The Christmas Letter

Hello, And I know it has been a VERY LOOOOONG TIME !!  But here I am :)
and  A BIG Googley eyed FUNKY Hello to you all friends <3 <3

Every Christmas since starting to create the Funky GeeGee's I have enjoyed creating Christmas Cartoons. It really helps to Get me into the spirit, All festive and Jolly.  And as the Children have grown they have started to look forward to them each year and watching them from blank paper, Sketch and then painted has been a very enjoyable experience for them this year.  So much so that they too have been enjoying some creative writing so we have had some extentions on the Frozen story from my daughter.  And my little boy is Minecraft mad so he has been writing about Steve and Santa . . .Bless them, So special !!  AND WE MUST really appreciate their little imaginations and help to nourish them as they grow.  Our Imaginations are so important to us, They help us to beleive.  And through life as we grow older it becomes harder to beleive with all the mis-trust we find around us..l It is these times when we really must access the imaginary, to help us to beleive and to give us hope and courage and above all . . . .  TO INSPIRE OTHERS to do the same <3

So this year, Instead of just some Christmasy illustrations (Although I really did enjoy Smurfie and the Snowman and Robin last year, and I definatly plan to add to these in the future, Cute little threesome they are <3 BUT  This Year I thought I would add to the normal Festive illustrating and also create a Christmas Story to go along with it.  A magical journey I allowed my mind to take me as I created the story and characters, Beleiving i was there, it was really happening, Controlling it but also letting it just take me with its intrusive magic . . . . And here is the result :)

I really hope you enjoy it and it fills you with a little bit of magic.  Its a continuing story that is uploaded each day from now til Christmas so please do pop back to follow the story :)

And I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a

Merry Christmas
and a fun filled
FUNKY New Year <3
