AND I'M HERE WITH NEWS . . . Get me hahaha !! I have a release date for my book!! YUP it is complete and ready to go out and be enjoyed.  My goal was to spread humour and i hope that is what the GeeGee's do.

LIFE IS TOO SERIOUS . . . LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!  

So here we go . . . RELEASE DATE for The truth about PONIES.

UK and EU ~ 21st of March 2015

USA and Non EU ~ 22nd March 2015

It has been an emotional journey with many ups and downs and times when i felt it was never going to happen.  But i kept going, small little steps and here I am and i can say I MADE IT TO MY GOAL . . . I'm chasing my DREAM!!

So here i sit at the computer with a smile that the cat from Alice in wonderland would be proud of and i'm a mixture of a ZILLION emotions all rolled into one.  WHAT A JOURNEY :)

I am so excited to see the Funky GeeGee's out there in the big wide world spreading the FUNKY VIBE and hopefully plenty giggles :)

I have loved every minute of creating the illustrations to go with my story, to see something come to life in front of my eyes is such an amazing experience and such a joy. And then when the last illustration was completed and they were all added into the book it was like seeing your baby born and meeting for the first time. YES I DID CRY, LOT'S!!  Happy tears though, and thankful tears for the ability, and the gift of creativity we are all born with.

So i guess I shall leave this blog post there for now and wait and see what you all think of the book. I can put my feet up tonight with a nice bag of minstrels and maybe even some maltesers because I deserve them after today's last furlong to that finish post . . . and CRIKEY my brain is frazzled!!

Getting ever so close now and the excitement is rocking the kitchen

Hi Funky's hows it going ? 

It is getting ever so close now to release and i'm hopeful i can give a release date in the next day or two just a couple of last things to be sure of first :)  BUT i can safely say the excitement is ROCKING THE KITCHEN . . . LITERALLY.  The Funky GeeGee's are pacing back and forth causing tracks in the kitchen lino i have threatened them if they do not stop i will have to sell their carrots to pay for new flooring. Hmmmmm that did not go down very well and within minutes they had changed route and direction to compensate for the tracks already there.

NOW MY FLOOR LOOKS LIKE AN ABSTRACT PAINTING!!

Sooooo what else has been going on in Funky studio?  WELL this week was world book day for the children at school and i was rather gutted that their was not an opportunity for them to dress up. It was pj's for Baby Funky and for Mini Funky it was school uniform and a book quiz trail (Which was fun, but could of been more fun if we had lots of little characters running round school) But we had a great time answerng the quiz questions together and rattling round all the corners of school looking for the answers.  These early years are just so precious.  And Mini Funky is growing so so quickly and seems to know so many things and some of it just VRrrrrooooooms straight over my head.
Baby Funky has had a growth spurt so as well as trousers with ankle ventilation.  She also looks like a little lady,She's a proper little princess. Very girlie UNLIKE HER MUM :)

The children are doing the end papers for my book. We were walking to school one day discussing them and what they may like to create and share. We somehow went from the idea of carrots and apples, to spaceships with neon lights and princesses with magic powers . . . .Hmmmm I did try and explain to them that it is a HORSE book.  And their reply?

Well you make the Funky GeeGee's wear 

dresses and fly spaceships. 

Smurf has even been seen on a broomstick!!

OK FAIR ARGUMENT. Yes indeed the GeeGee's have been seen in space shuttles and wearing tiara's and long frocks.  So I suppose this matter has some room for compromise. And it is still a WIP.  But i promise when you read the book and you see their little end papers they have painted pictures for.  Their hearts, imaginations, and creative spirit has gone into them. And they are both proud and over the moon that they can have this opportunity to share them with you.  I love my little Artists <3

So we shall have the end papers ready by Sunday night ready to go into the manuscript too :) And I am ever hopeful that the 3rd week of the month is going to be when i can let the Funky GeeGee's Freeeeeee with their story :)

This coming week will be finalizing everything and getting the GeeGee's all spruced up ready to meet the world.  And WOW are they excited. And so am I :) :) Eeeeeek MASSIVE GOOFY SMILES :)

 Finishing off the final few Illustrations for the book last week :)

 FAR TOO MANY LATE NIGHTS!! . . .Makes Miss Funky look like THIS. YIKES.

I think i best get myself FUNKY'd up a bit for the book launch.  Can't be sprucing the GeeGee's up and then have Miss Funky stand there like a neglected shetland pony in full winter coat. lol.

SO NOT LONG NOW THEN . . . . And I shall guarantee some GIGGLES OUT LOUD:)

The GeeGee's require a horsebox

HELLO :)  Me again.  And this time I have something to share in the way of a BOOK TRAILER for my new up and coming book THE TRUTH ABOUT PONIES.

I have really enjoyed the process of making this movie for the GeeGee's even if i have had to put up with their millionth great idea that frankly would not fit into the storyboard at all!! You try teling them that a big picture of a carrot should not follow every slide!!  NEVER MIND, Manage I did and proud i am and i think it has really boosted me for this final furlong and give me that creative kick i needed to get this book into creative shape ready for release :)

THE TRUTH ABOUT PONIES BOOK TRAILER

So now that the book trailer is out and the book is getting formatted ready for release my stress levels have become almost an energy of their own!! To avoid becoming overloaded, and blowing up like an old kettle left on the hot plate too long and the house filling with steam as it pours from my ears. I have been trying to learn how to switch off, relax and breathe. This is still very much a WIP.

Today though was one of those smiley proud mama moments.  The GeeGee's were taken to the studio for their professional photo shoot ready to be uploaded into the book manuscript.  Carrying them in my portfolio smiling from ear to ear like a cheshire cat on a sunny Sunday morning i carefully transported them to where they needed to go.  My portfolio is a big black case.  Bigger than A3 not sure exactly what size it is, but its big enough for the fattest of Funky GeeGee.  Anyways back to what i was saying.  So my big black portfolio just isn't quite right for the GeeGee's.  They are FUNKY characters and require FUNKY transport, And being GeeGee's well kinda needs to be suitable for such? Or that's what i think anyways. And what the FGG'S have moaned on about since i suggested it !  SOoooo it has been decided that i need to change the boring black case into a horsebox suitable for the FUNKIEST of FUNKY GeeGee!! So after they come back from their litte adventures tomorrow we are all going to sit down round the kitchen table WITHOUT fighting over chairs and TOGETHER decide on a design for this FUNKY automobile that these quirky characters require.

 I shall post photos after we have . . .

Until then?  Boring normal portfolio it is, but i'm sure not such a boring photographic studio tonight.

I really do hope that the photographer knows what she has let herself in for, having them lot over for a sleepover?!! OH MY WORD . . . Imagine the mayhem!!

It is VERY quiet here tonight in Funky kitchen studio. It also turns out that my air freshener is quite nice now i can smell it and the flooring is actually quite nice in contrast to my kitchen now i can see it without so many chunks of half eaten carrots all over the floor !! BUT I am indeed missing them.  By now i would of heard the word carrot about 2 million times. I am missing it so much i said it a few times to myself whilst sitting working just to make it less weird of an atmosphere.

  CARROT ? . . .There said it again.

I am missing them, I wanted the peace but now the peace feels weird. LIKE WEIRD KINDA WEIRD!!  I am indeed (may regret saying this) but I'M LOOKING FORWARD to their return tomorrow. Shhhh don't tell them i said that :) Lets just hope their return is without a bill for damages and replacement of goods??? AND Pleeeeeease don't eat the camera!!

Well I am off to make a cuppa and chomp on a carrot. I am missing the taste, i've normally chomped through half a bag trying to half them to share round by now.  BUT there is a whole bag in the fridge tonight untouched and well one won't hurt will it?  Shhhhhhh best not tell em GeeGee's they will be after me with the yard broom and shavings fork . . .  YIKES!!

Book almost complete. . Yes I said BOOK !! Finally !!

Hello, And yes again i am repeating myself when I say It's been a long time I know !!

So lets skip that one and get straight to the NEWS . . . Yep I actually have some ! And hey I think it's canny good news to be sharing with you all :)

So Cough, cough, HANG ON WAIT . . . . I need to go get my official hat on, and maybe find the hairbrush. HA You really should see me, I look like a pretty good interpretation of a scarecrow.  Amazing how your whole image can change when you forget about it.

 WHY ?? I mean surely the hairbrush is not an epic challenge ?  NOPE no challenge just boring in comparison to what i am on with.  What, what, what are you on with ? I hear you say.
You mentioned the book word . . .  what does that mean ?


WELL, Exactly that . . . . I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY BOOK !!

Only a year later than i wanted to, or maybe two or three, 

I'm really not sure. Bluuuur of all sorts and that

 four letter pain in the hindquarter word 'LIFE'.

 BUT now I can honestly say . . . .IT IS COMPLETE . . .  COMPLETE . . .  DONE, and I'm actually happy with the final result. WOW, aren't I doing well?
Changes, Miraculous things they are. Making them has the side effect of doing something.
Make them positive and you have DONE SOMETHING POSITIVE.

SO WHERE IS IT ?? 

It is in its final stages now, and this is erm . . . Headache mazes of html code and formatting stuff that frankly goes STRAIGHT OVER THE FORELOCK !!  It seems that the easy bit was actually the writing of the story and the pictures.  Computer stuff? YA LOST ME !!
So it's not quite there.  But the journey to get there I would like to share with you so I shall blog a little more often in these final few weeks to book launch.

 Date for launch is still to be determined, BUT it is going to be in March 2015

 . . . YES INDEED THIS YEAR, I promise.

And so the hard work I thought i had done, seems to be just beginning.  I must treat it as an adventure, avoid becoming disheartened and SMILE . . . .Must remember to smile on through there.  And soon I hope to pat my self on the back and say WELL DONE you did it.  Now go take a long bath, find the hairbrush, and GO TO BED.  SMILE and be pleased with One's self :)

So keep your eyes peeled. NEXT WEEK will see Book trailer launch.  I really enjoyed working on the book trailer. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

AND THE BOOK ?? If you giggle half as much reading it, as I did writing it.  I'm gunna be over the moon.  In a serious world ? Humour is much needed. And humour and the GeeGee's ? WELL Thats pretty easy, they go together like a saddle and a numnah . . . Cosy !!

 And these GeeGee's they are full of humour.  They never cease to surprise me with their antics and mischief.  After helping bring their story to life i have had to work alongside some of the most funny but at times TOTALLY annoying characters. Who if you take your eyes off them for more than two minutes they will be eating the manuscript or pooping on the illustrations. And at this stage I'M JUST NOT HAVING IT !!
I literally have to have eyes in the back of my head and at times it has come to the point where i have had to say GET OUT . . .Go and chew on the grass in the garden. I can't have you guys in the studio anymore.
Of course then every two minutes you get . . . TAP, TAP on the door and a 'feeling sorry'
 for himself  GeeGee waving his hooves at you through the glass with them big googley eyes and pet lip. Pleeeeeeeease Miss Funky, I promise to be good.
       
How can i not let them back in when they do things like that ??

After all im telling their story, and beleive me when I say, It's interesting ! Oh yes, these GeeGee's are rather interesting characters ! Soooo I need to tolerate their ways, and they have MANY.
Including the dancing to the can can along to the tunes playing through my speakers.  Believe me it is VERY HARD to try and draw straight lines when the ground is shaking like a mini earthquake.
 Im trying to pursuade them to try some yoga.  Theoretically then it should be quiet in the studio as they stretch and open chakras.  But well with the relaxation comes the side effects of flatulence .

Have you ever tried to edit a word document when the room is full of a distinct rotten grass smell ??  Not to be advised.  It plays havock with your eyesight when trying to read the letters of a sentence !! And as they tend not to be of the steadiest on their hooves these GeeGee's.  Well there usually ends up a whole heap of alphabet and numbers on screen to delete back out.  VERY FRUSTRATING.

But tolerate it I must.  They are fun characters to have around.  And I am loving bringing their story to life. Even if it means putting up with the mayhem that comes along with it.

And here i am creating one of the Illustrations . . .  Like I say, I must brush my hair lol !

Sooooo hopefully my next blog post should be a very positive one. And the book trailer will go live.

 And I'm hoping to also be able to give a final release date for the book . . . . Eeeeeeek exciting and nerve racking all at the same time.  Thankgoodness for these GeeGee's cheering me up with their antics or id be crying all over the watercolour . . .  

. . . OH MY, Imagine that, I'd be dooooomed !!!

The Christmas Letter

Hello, And I know it has been a VERY LOOOOONG TIME !!  But here I am :)
and  A BIG Googley eyed FUNKY Hello to you all friends <3 <3

Every Christmas since starting to create the Funky GeeGee's I have enjoyed creating Christmas Cartoons. It really helps to Get me into the spirit, All festive and Jolly.  And as the Children have grown they have started to look forward to them each year and watching them from blank paper, Sketch and then painted has been a very enjoyable experience for them this year.  So much so that they too have been enjoying some creative writing so we have had some extentions on the Frozen story from my daughter.  And my little boy is Minecraft mad so he has been writing about Steve and Santa . . .Bless them, So special !!  AND WE MUST really appreciate their little imaginations and help to nourish them as they grow.  Our Imaginations are so important to us, They help us to beleive.  And through life as we grow older it becomes harder to beleive with all the mis-trust we find around us..l It is these times when we really must access the imaginary, to help us to beleive and to give us hope and courage and above all . . . .  TO INSPIRE OTHERS to do the same <3

So this year, Instead of just some Christmasy illustrations (Although I really did enjoy Smurfie and the Snowman and Robin last year, and I definatly plan to add to these in the future, Cute little threesome they are <3 BUT  This Year I thought I would add to the normal Festive illustrating and also create a Christmas Story to go along with it.  A magical journey I allowed my mind to take me as I created the story and characters, Beleiving i was there, it was really happening, Controlling it but also letting it just take me with its intrusive magic . . . . And here is the result :)

  I really hope you enjoy it and it fills you with a little bit of magic.  Its a continuing story that is uploaded each day from now til Christmas so please do pop back to follow the story :)
